multimedia technology firm makes key appointments to help expand business into
Federal and Commercial markets

BURLINGTON, MA; REDWOOD CITY, CA – Pixel Forensics, Inc., a leading provider of multimedia technologies and solutions, today announces the hiring of Jeff Karnes as Chief Executive Officer and the appointment of Paul Lego, Jay Allen Sears, and Richard Upton to its Board of Advisors.
Jeff Karnes is a proven software and Internet executive with over 14 years of experience in multimedia products and technology. He has successfully managed multimedia-based businesses and product lines ranging from large scale enterprise software to consumer services in roles including product management, marketing, business development, and sales. Most recently he founded MediaRunner Consulting, a firm specializing in strategy and go-to-market for media-based technology companies. Prior to this, he held various executive and senior-level positions with VoloMedia, Yahoo!, WebEx, Virage, and Cinebase Software.
The Board of Advisors brings together decades of expertise in executive management, strategy, business operations, and business development for large scale software systems and services organizations. Paul Lego brings over 25 years of experience in start-ups including over 20 years as a President, COO, or CEO at companies such as Dash Navigation, Virage, Avid, and DigiDesign. Mr. Lego has also held positions at Pyramid Technology Corporation, the General Electric Company, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Dr. Jay Allen Sears adds over 35 years of expertise in Federal markets and multimedia research from his positions as program manager for DARPA, Assistant Director for Technology Transfer in the Information Technology Office, senior-level posts with MITRE and Unisys, and most recently as Vice President at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives. Dr. Richard Upton, an Executive In Residence with General Catalyst Partners, has over 25 years experience as an executive specializing in the development and growth of technology-oriented services and integration businesses in Intelligence, Healthcare and Defense markets having held executive-level positions at companies such as BBN Technologies, TASC, and BAE Systems.
